This week i thought i would share with you ppl, about a model (F1) which we guys at the Artist Forum, NITK had made for the fashion show during Incident 2005. Incident happens to be a inter college fest at NITK, surathkal. I shall post more about the activities of the forum, which i was a part of during my stay in the college, in the days to come. But for now, if anyone is interested in making a model, then the following steps could help out the first timers. Have fun!!

  • Make sure you have a decent idea of the size of the model you wish to make.

  • Based on the size of the model, purchase wooden beams, gauge wires and nails.

  • Make the base of the model as shown in pic below.

  • Once the base is ready, we can think about the skeleton of the F1 model.

  • The skeleton can be built using these gauge wires. This step requires a lot of imagination on building the model. If this step goes through fine than one can be rest assured the model would turn out to be fine.

  • The tyres can be made ready alongside as these would act as add-ons. The skeleton of the tyres, also, is to be made using the gauge wires. Below is the pic where I was doing my bit for the model. The picture also speaks about the beginning of some great friendship!!..wot say, Swarna n Ronsi??!!

  • Time now for pasting work. This step requires loads of newspaper. The newspapers have to be stuck all along the mesh work. This step is time consuming, but its damn simple.

  • After the paper work, its time for painting!!. We need to first apply a white colour coating. Allow the paint to dry. Please note, the paint can be of synthetic enamel type.

  • Continuing with the painting…. We need the basic colours of Ferrari, viz., red, black, white and yellow. Now start painting for getting that Ferrari look!!
